This position will principally involve using a light sheet microscope to acquire images of immunohistochemically-stained intact mouse brains. This will include isolating brains, using chemicals to clear the tissue, and imaging brains on the light sheet microscope. After imaging, data will need to be processed and analyzed, which will require use of software. Knowledge of python is highly desired. In addition to this central role, the position will also involve various laboratory tasks including organization of the lab, genotyping animals, running PCR reactions, and assisting with graduate students and postdocs as necessary. Making solutions, preparing DNA, and conducting molecular cloning experiments will all be included. The ideal candidate will have previous research experience, particularly with using microscopes, and schedule flexibility.
