University Health System (UHS) is a nationally recognized teaching hospital and network of outpatient healthcare centers. The UHS Department of Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacy Services is composed of over 300 employees promoting a culture of patient safety and excellence in customer service. The pharmacy departments mission is to optimize pharmacosafety, pharmacoefficacy, pharmacoeconomics, and education. We have growing service lines in Meds to Beds, Technology and Automation, Population Health, Investigational Drug Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy Services, and Inpatient Operations. The staff clinical pharmacist will primarily support inpatient operations, and provide services that include order verification, drug information, therapeutic drug monitoring, compounded sterile and non-sterile product preparation and dispensing (hazardous and non-hazardous) and cross-coverage for decentralized services in our care areas mentioned above. We have a strong residency program and support pharmacy student learning for 2 schools of pharmacy. While precepting pharmacy learners is not a requirement, it is highly recommended and is a large part of our mission. We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individuals with excellent teamwork skills to join our growing pharmacy team!
Pharmacy licensure in the state of Texas and a B.S. Pharm or Pharm D. degree
Pharmacy Preceptor in the state of Texas
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience (3 years in health-system pharmacy)
Experience in large, academic, heath system with diverse patient populations
Adult, pediatric, neonate patients
Critical care, emergency medicine, solid organ transplant, cardiology, oncology
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or related specialty
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
