The Public Health Diversity Advisor within the Nevada Public Health Training Center (NVPHTC) provides expert advisory consultation to public health agencies to train and enhance the public health workforce by empowering organizations to deliver successful strategic plans, policies, and training programs aimed at diversity and inclusion in public health services. Positions perform program evaluation and needs assessment of existing plans and training programs to increase the effectiveness with which these programs are delivered to the workforce in order to minimize and circumvent practices that contribute to disparities in minority populations.
The Advisor is the subject matter expert for a specific diversity category. The Advisor will manage professional relationships with the public health community to deliver and expand these consultative services. Advisors will create assessments to determine training needs, research and develop curriculum based on feedback and outreach activities associated with the program, and guide organizations in the implementation and delivery of these comprehensive programs.
Bachelors and two (2) years or Masters and one (1) year of related experience.
Related experience: Adult learning methodology; minority/diverse populations; community outreach; program and project coordination and planning.
This position required a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
