Position Summary: Provides learning activities and support that leads to student achievement of course objectives and contributes to the educational environment of the Lone Star College System and community. Responsibilities include learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary functions are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning, success, and preparation for the workforce.
Teaches credit and non-credit courses, including Corporate College and Continuing Education classes, in the Architectural Engineering Graphics Design program
Develops Architectural Engineering Graphics Design curriculum for all classes
Develops sites for students to participate in internships or pursue full time employment
Responsible for maintaining and improving Architectural Engineering Graphics Design shop
Recommends equipment and supply purchases; provides input into budget process
Collaborates with Program Chair/Director to develop schedules
Submits required college reports and forms
Develops and utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
Advises students in career and program matters
Provides timely, quality access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods
Continuously improves instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods, including collaborative learning, learning communities, service learning, instructional technology, and distance education
Evaluates students by a variety of means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform them in a timely manner of their progress
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned, including serving on committees and attending meetings, to assist with the success of the Advanced Technologies Institute
Associate’s degree in Engineering Graphics, Drafting Technology or Computer Aided Design and minimum 3 years in the respective field. OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Architecture and minimum 3 years in the respective field Significant hands-on experience Experience in adapting training techniques to students of both technical and non-technical backgrounds
