Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center (P/SL) provides state-of-the-art, complex medical care in the heart of Denver's Uptown neighborhood. Our hospital and emergency room treat patients from all over the Rocky Mountain region. We offer a range of services, including pediatric, high risk pregnancy, heart care and weight loss solutions.
Our full-service facility also offers a Cancer Center distinguished by the Commission on Cancer as a Center of Excellence, with the largest Bone Marrow Transplant Center in the Rocky Mountain region. P/SL holds centers of excellence designations in neonatal intensive care, spine and joint care and bariatric surgery as well as stroke certification and level IV trauma.
The Anesthesia Technician Supervisor (ATS) demonstrates skills as a resource person and liaison between the specialty team members, other staff members, anesthesia providers, surgeons, and vendors. The ATS assists with the overall management of anesthesia care in the OR, supervises all anesthesia technicians and patient care technicians, assists with performance evaluations, counseling and coaching of staff, hiring, and day to day operational supervision. The ATS is responsible for ensuring department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulatory agencies. The ATS works closely with clinical staff to ensure that surgical procedures performed are thoroughly prepared prior to surgery. The ATS coordinates specialty (equipment, special order supplies, etc.) items with the specialty team leaders and materials management staff to ensure their availability. The ATS assists with the orientation of new employees. The ATS prepares budgets for capital and expense budgets for submittal to the Director of Surgical Services. The ATS serves as an excellent role model and provides leadership for staff members and demonstrates self-direction with excellent prioritization skills. The ATS assumes responsibility for and engages in activities that develop and maintain clinical expertise and professional skills. The ATS supports and follows SRMC policy and procedures. The ATS displays positive support for the values and mission of SRMC. The ATS promotes interdisciplinary communication and care. The delivery of care is based on the age, physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The ATS demonstrates basic and unit specific competencies. The ATS demonstrates technical skills to assist the anesthesia provider (anesthesiologist) with equipment, and supplies utilized in the course of the anesthesia providers practice. Responsibilities will include application of Joint Commission and OSHA standards with regard to cleaning, safety, and equipment maintenance. The ATS performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Sky Ridge Medical Center (SRMC). The ATS performs activities in accordance with patient care and department standards, including patient transport, blood and blood product transport, OR room turnover, handling of sterile supplies, and other duties as assigned. The ATS may come in contact with medications and therefore must demonstrate understanding of proper medication management and storage as well as maintaining a secure medication environment. Call may be required for this position.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
Graduation from an Anesthesia Technician program preferred
3-4 years of experience in Anesthesia required
