The GRDEV Application Administrator is a creative, resourceful and integrative thinker responsible for the administration and day-to-day use of the GRDEV applications, as well as the development and implementation of new reporting and business intelligence tools. This role serves as the GRDEV technical point-of-contact and assists subject matter experts ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. This position will require the development of a strong understanding of Grants Administration and Research Development data.
This position implements and provides feedback into the vision and strategic objectives set by management to automate and streamline Grants Development (GRDEV) processes and proactively grow GRDEV application services while providing measurable value to department and Institute customers. Partners and collaborates with leaders and team members in GRDEV and across the Institute to analyze work process design and flow, systems gaps and problems, and manual inefficiencies. Collaborates with team members to improve processes and leverages the return on technological capabilities using best practices. Continually works to ensure that GRDEV and other Institute user needs are met in a manner that is effective and efficient. Position supports, in collaboration with Information Systems and relevant vendors, GRDEV application upgrades, patches, and testing.
Participates in cross-functional support groups with Information Systems and other departments to coordinate system and process changes due to system maintenance (e.g. new software versions, new hardware), and administrative functions (e.g. creating new departments, addressing audit requirements). Documents system use and configuration changes. Proactively interfaces with end users and pertinent stakeholders to gather feedback and assist with projects.Proactively identifies opportunities for and suggests new COTS and custom applications to meet emerging data, analytics, and reporting needs. Develops requirements and prototypes for new applications.
Bachelorâ™s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent years of relevant experience in a related field
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Satisfactory completion of the Instituteâ™s background investigation.
