We are creating a new position for a Learning Experience Quality Metrics Specialist, who will be responsible to track and report on institution-level learning quality metrics, including course engagement, GPA information, retention, and tracking specific learning outcomes.This role will be collaborating with UWC2 teams to identify metrics, working with program managers, learning systems specialists, instructional designers, and our marketing team, to identify the most meaningful metrics, extract and analyze data from our systems, and report on outcomes to program directors, team directors, and senior leadership. This role will be key to our ongoing program iteration, improvement, and success.RESPONSIBILITIES:Data Gathering and AnalysisExtract data from learning systems using a combination of API calls and spreadsheet downloadsIn consultation with director and other staff, combine and analyze data to produce reports relevant to students' learning experience and outcomes, including time spent on tasks, student success on assessments related to specific learning outcomes, and student overall course progressWork with the team to establish a Learning Record Store for easier data gathering and analysisMonitor and support use of learning analytics tools embedded in courses via consultation with course instructors, TAs, academic advisers, and UWC2 Online Learning Analytics teamConduct research (user groups, surveys, literature reviews, interviews, potentially qualitative research) on learning experience and learning quality metrics to measure quality of the UWC2 learning experienceSuggest new research methods and metrics to better measure and influence iterative improvement of the UWC2 learning experienceParticipate in regularly gathering data to help find solutions for ensuring a high-level of course, certificate, degree, and program qualityOther responsibilities as assignedQuality Metrics Change ManagementPlan metrics and identify data that can be used to answer key questions about the quality of our diverse UWC2 program offeringsWork individually and in teams to identify new quality metrics to track; implement workflows to track these metricsMake suggestions to UWC2 teams on how they might use the data, metrics, and results gathered by this positionWork with our team of Instructional Designers and instructors to help tie assessment data to specific learning outcomesParticipate in monthly meetings of the university-wide Assessment GroupQuality Metrics Process ManagementCreate workflows and coordinate work to consistently track and share quality metrics established by teams within UWC2 Check the quality of metrics to ensure that they are effectively measuring accurately, precisely, and consistently, and can be used to improve students' lifelong learning experiences with UWC2UWC2 team members bring their talents to a successful, respected and financially self-sustaining professional and continuing education environment that values collaborative decision-making, innovative solutions and environmentally sound green practices.
