The Program in Corporate Welfare seeks to hire two part-time Junior Specialist, working as a researcher. The position requires a BA degree in economics, statistics, or data analysis. The researcher will work under the supervision of a faculty member or of a postdoctoral scholar in the Program in Corporate Welfare Studies. The duties include finding sources of data, collecting and digitizing data, checking data, conducting statistical analysis of the data, reviewing published research, and writing summaries of findings.
The required skills are knowledge of econometrics, including linear regression, and ability to use STATA software to analyze data. Additional helpful skills are use of MATLAB software, programming in Python, and scraping data from the Web. A background in economics is useful but not essential.
The position will pay $20 hourly plus 9.7% benefits. Estimated number of hours per week not to exceed 19.5 hours. 49% time.
