The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the UW School of Medicine is the third largest clinical department within the School of Medicine with 285 full-time faculty members, 280 clinical faculty members, and over 200 staff. Department faculty provide clinical services in 5 hospitals, 14 primary care locations, and several outpatient sites in addition to telepsychiatry consultations to more than 150 clinics in Washington and beyond. Other areas of excellence include Addictions, Autism, High Risk Youth, Neurosciences, and Trauma, and the Department is developing innovative new programs in Technology and Mental Health, Global Mental Health, Maternal and Child Mental Health, and Targeted Intervention Development.The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for a Research Study Assistant. This position involves support of a variety of research projects and training/technical assistance activities for the Dept. of Psychiatry, CREATIV Lab, whose goal is to develop personalized and targeted mental health interventions that can be implemented in real world settings. Under the supervision of the Research Program Manager, this position will support the operations of research studies involving human subjects. Applicants must be available 40 hours per week. The study team works primarily with adults over 60 years of age who are suffering with depression.RESPONSIBILITIES:*Assist with preparing, reviewing, and modifying Human Subjects (IRB) forms;*Assist with the development and maintenance of research and recruitment materials including subject charts, surveys, letters, brochures and other materials;*Schedule and document research and recruitment activities including subject assessments, MRI schedules and therapy schedules;*Review and explain research projects with prospective subjects on the phone;*Obtain verbal/written consent on the phone or in person;*Screen and assess potential research subjects on the phone or in person;*Assist with participant data collection;*Complete detailed follow-up assessment interviews by telephone and in person*Maintain confidentiality of respondent information and subject records;*Interpret and apply data collection and data management protocols;*Assist in managing subject payments for participation;*Assist in data entry, data cleaning and data management;*Assist in subject tracking and scheduling;*Assist in monitoring data quality control to ensure adherence to study protocol;*Use statistical and/or database management programs to assist with data analysis;*Prepare summary narrative reports, graphs, tables, charts and illustrations;*Assist with reporting; summarize study results and prepare presentations and reports;*Assist with organization and tracking of tools and materials, including various versions, types and locations;*Help coordinate efforts across diverse research and evaluation projects where overlapping goals and stakeholders exist;*Coordinate, schedule and monitor project meetings and trainings, including logistics, materials, etc;*Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussion research;*Perform related duties as requiredAs a UW employee, you will enjoy generous benefits and work/life programs.
