The UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital is recruiting a Pediatric Infectious Disease physician to serve as Associate Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship program at either the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. This position would be full-time and would include clinical, research, and administrative opportunities.
The candidate should have the following experience/qualifications:
M.D. or D.O.
Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases
Eligibility for a California Medical License
Proven excellence in clinical care and education
Experience or training in Antimicrobial Stewardship
Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
Clinical duties would include:
Inpatient consultation services to other subspecialties including neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and solid organ transplant
Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
Antibiotic stewardship responsibilities would include:
Working with the ID pharmacist to develop clinical guidelines for antibiotic use
Monitoring of inpatient antibiotic use and resistant organisms
Collaborating with adult ASP medical directors and pharmacists on hospital-wide antibiotic stewardship initiatives
Contribution to scholarly work
UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital is a medium sized children's hospital located in West Los Angeles and is nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report. Mattel hospital includes both inpatient floors at Santa Monica hospital and Ronald Reagan hospital. The Pediatric Infectious Disease division includes 8 faculty members who are actively engaged in clinical and laboratory based research, clinical care, and education.
