Under general guidance of the Medical Director, the Credentialing Administrator's primary responsibilities include:*Planning, coordination and implementation of hospital-wide programs and processes facilitated by the Medical Director's Office*Provides oversight of the credentialing process for over 1900 medical staff members at Harborview Medical Center.*Maintains strict adherence to confidentiality and regulatory requirements with regards to sensitive credentialing matters.*Communicates professionally with Chiefs of Service, medical staff, UW Medicine departments, and outside entities as needed to facilitate credentialing, professional practice evaluations and supervisory plan follow-up.*Establishes credentialing schedules and adheres to rules and regulations to facilitate the credentialing of medical staff through required committee and board approvals.*Reviews credentialing files with stringent attention to detail assuring that all files are complete prior to submission to the credentialing committee for review and approval.*Manages the Ongoing Professional Practice evaluation process for all medical staff assuring completion to meet regulatory requirements.*Maintains oversight of medical staff policies, procedures, medical staff orientation manual and bylaws to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as The Joint Commission, Department of Health, and the National Commission for Quality Assurance*Serves as an administrative contact for the coordination and management of the Medical Director's Office, including representing the office on various committees and teams developing partnerships with other administrators, physicians, and clinicians in order to achieve common goals and improving systems and coordination amongst the medical center, and UW Medicine.*Performs timely and accurate management of Payroll/Timekeeping functions, and coordinates recruitment, interviews, and facilitates selection of staff.*Provides oversight of the Medical Administration and Resident budgets.*Accurate and timely monthly reconciliation of all Medical Admin and Residency budgets.*Tracking and management of FTE's allocated budgets, including proactive problem solving when discrepancies are noted.*Participates in annual budget planning, taking into account medical center restrictions and department needs/plans.*Makes responsible purchase decisions following established protocols, rules and regulations.*This position has high visibility throughout UW Medicine, requiring a superior level of professionalism, and must communicate confidentially and diplomatically, clearly and effectively. The incumbent must provide a high level of attention to detail in addition to possessing strong project management and organizational skills. REQUIREMENTS:*Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field AND five years of progressively responsible administrative/customer support experience to include overseeing and executing office operations, and project management experience in a large, complex organization.*Competitive candidates will have excellent demonstrated professional written and verbal communication skills.
