The Senior Organization Consultant is an experienced professional who has an in-depth understanding of the learning and organization effectiveness professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
This position works on strategic organizational consulting issues that are diverse in scope, where analysis of situations requires evaluation of various factors. Normally receives little instruction on planning, researching, and resolving organizational effectiveness issues, with general instructions and guidance provided on new assignments and/or more unique situations including strategic planning. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Demonstrates passion, enthusiasm and resilience when working on organization effectiveness related work.
Key Responsibilities: Design and apply change principles (Prosci, Linkage) to large HRIS implementation. Create project plan and design and deliver key training/messages to UC San Diego Health regarding change plan and training. Design and delivery of in-person courses, programs and events related to staff development, performance management, interpersonal effectiveness. Manages internal professional development programs. Responsible for internal consulting requests including but not limited to: MBTI(R) assessment/DISC, organizational change initiatives, team building, and custom training. Serves on HR and systemwide work groups related to areas of responsibility.
A Bachelor's Degree in organizational design, industrial/organizational psychology, human resources, business administration or related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Minimum of seven (7+) or more years of experience and success in organizational development and effectiveness field; designing and implementing customized organizational interventions.
Demonstrated experience building and implementing change strategies for large scale programs.
Highly skilled in facilitation, consulting and relationship building. Demonstrated ability to consult, facilitate, and influence people.
Excellent project management and program management skills; demonstrated experience designing and managing leader and/or highly visible professional development programs.
Outstanding communication skills. Ability to speak effectively in public to diverse audiences, outstanding interpersonal communication skills, excellent professional writing ability, and negotiation skills.
Demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration skills - can easily move from working independently to working closely with other team members to execute on deliverables.
Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with team members, including ability to manage projects effectively, and taking initiative and using sound judgment.
A Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Design or Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field.
