Kootenai Health is seeking a Director of Nursing Excellence to assess, implement, provide oversight for, and expand nursing education and professional development programs for all levels of nursing and ancillary nursing support staff!
As the Director of Nursing Excellence at Kootenai Health, you will collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop a strategic vision for competency-based professional development programs, ensure programs are timely, relevant and evidence-based, and develop curriculum that will impact the quality of care and produce measurable outcomes. You will collaborate with leadership to identify training solutions that support Kootenai Health’s mission, vision, values, and strategic imperatives of the organization, oversee Transition to Practice programs including the Nurse Residency Program and monitor for quality outcomes and return on investment. In this role, you will monitor activities required to maintain ANCC Magnet Recognition Status, maintain expert knowledge of current Magnet requirements and ensure organization awareness and success and act as a resource and advisor to the Magnet coordinator. Additionally, you will provide leadership for division quality improvement activities, clinical nursing policy and procedure development, oversee programs such as the Aspiring Nurse Leader (ANL) and Nursing Excellence Program (NEP), serve as a liaison to Schools of Nursing and Community School Nursing Programs, and oversees planning for staff BSN completion. To be successful in this role, you will need:
Graduate of a nationally-accredited nursing program.
Licensed as an RN by the Idaho Board of Nursing or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multi-state privilege to practice" compact with Idaho
Master's degree in nursing required, Doctorate preferred
Experience in education program design and evaluation in an acute care tertiary hospital setting required
Knowledge of operations and regulatory requirements, professional nursing practice models and standards and regulatory requirements. Successful experience as a change agent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience as an RN required
Certification in Specialty is required within 6 months of hire.
