The AP/HR Specialist plays a very important role in the day-to-day needs of the Pacific Ridge School (PRS) Business Office. The AP/HR Specialist is trustworthy with confidential information, flexible, supportive, and desires to serve in various facets of business—including Accounting, Human Resources, and administrative support for the Chief Financial & Operations Officer. The AP/HR Specialist should be a strong communicator, a self-starter, demonstrated ability to multi-task and switch between functions seamlessly, detail oriented and a team player. The ideal candidate will have a background in an office setting, preferably in Accounting or Human Resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following)
Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable:
Maintain vendor accounts
Code and enter invoices and check requests
Handle vendor-related issues
Create purchase orders as requested
Responsible for creating and maintaining the accounting files by fiscal year, the corporate files, and other administrative duties as assigned
Support employee onboarding including: posting job opportunities, background checks and reference checks; verifications of employment; communicating with applicants; conducting orientations and overseeing employee paperwork
Responsible for creating and maintaining personnel files and the confidentiality of the files
Responsible for running an accurate payroll and maintaining up to date payroll information (both electronically and in files). Manages all processes related to payroll, including employee changes, rate and deduction oversight, and all other support for the administration and maintenance of the HRIS and Payroll system.
Assist in employee benefit and safety initiatives at PRS
Complete special projects and provide direct assistance to the Human Resources Manager
Perform other duties as assigned
Provide administrative assistance to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer
Perform other duties as assigned
The successful candidate has a bachelor’s degree and one to three years of experience in Accounts Payable, Human Resources, and/or administrative experience. This person has a proven track record of excellent work ethic, strong communication skills, personal drive, ability to multi-task and attention to detail. He or she will be able to relate well with all PRS constituents and to provide timely and friendly service.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Google Docs, and database software. Knowledge of Paycom, Senior Systems and/or Veracross is preferred.
The work schedule for this position is 30.0 hours per week with the opportunity to move to full-time (40.0 hours) if needed.
