Under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurses, Medical Director, or licensed medical care provider (physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner), the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Per Diem provides quality nursing care for all patients presented at the Student Health Center. The LVN Per Diem is responsible for: patient centered duties, assisting the medical care providers, performing technical and clerical tasks, completing special projects and assignments as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Manager or Medical director. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining harmonious relationships and favorable attitudes among the health care team; practices the standards of quality nursing care; practices the principles of infection control; responds appropriately when an emergency situation occurs and performs the duties and responsibilities outlined.

Salary: Hourly $30.93 Total Hours: Dependent on clinic needs 3 Per Diem Positions, 40%. Although this position's schedule is M-F and during traditional work hours, weekends or non-traditional work hours may be required for special projects or busy times of the year, or when strict deadlines must be met. In the case of extended hours, this position may be required to work those hours.
Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of a Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan background check, verification and continued monitoring of licensure as it applies to the position, and successful completion of our background review or credentialing process, as appropriate to the position.
The employee must comply with OSHA, CA/OSHA, and CDC recommendations and requirements regarding vaccination and testing of healthcare employees. This includes, but may not be limited to; current hepatitis B immunizations, annual flu vaccinations, and annual tuberculosis screening. At the discretion of Student Health Center, the employee may be offered an option to sign a declination acknowledgement in lieu of receiving an annual flu vaccination.
