The Pre-Operative Nurse addresses physiological, socio/cultural and spiritual needs and responses to care in their patients. The pre-op RN recognizes and effectively communicates the needs and barriers of the patient with the appropriate departments/caregivers such as, but not limited to, anesthesia needs/barriers, allergies, body habitus constraints, learning barriers and psychosocial/spiritual needs.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Minimum requirement is an Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Must be licensed as Registered Nurse with the State of Texas
CPR Certification through the American Heart Associate or American Red Cross
