Hanover is looking for an ambitious individual to fill a Risk Management Associate position that will assist in all areas of risk management/insurance, assuming broader responsibilities commensurate with the candidate’s risk management expertise. Assists with the underwriting process, including completing applications, sourcing data from internal departments, following up on receipt of all binders, endorsements and policies, tracking insurance policy renewals and reviewing invoices for accuracy.
Assists with contract review related to loans, development management agreements, joint ventures, property management and owner/GC/subcontractor agreements.
Assists the Claims Specialist with incident reporting, compliance and training, litigation discovery, claim resolution, and preparing notices to insurance companies.
Manages claims and incidents commensurate with experience level.
Leads the department’s compliance efforts by developing and overseeing the process to streamline compliance and tracking; trains Property Managers and Construction Site Administrators; verifies evidence of insurance provided by vendors/contractors/tenants complies with contractual requirements.
Manages the life cycle of all surety bonds through the application, execution, invoicing and exoneration process.
Manages the National Flood Insurance Program, including preparing reviewing and submitting applications and certificates, tracking renewals and invoices, and coordinating with broker and risk management staff to identify locations where NFIP is required.
Risk management / insurance professional preferred
ARM or CPCU designation preferred
2- 5 years’ experience in risk management department, insurance company, or broker
Experience working for real estate or construction company
Understand development, construction, management, and contract negotiations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and contract software (Timberscan, ProCore)
