The Graduate Assistant - Non-Teaching is responsible for assisting the IT Professional by maintaining and troubleshooting Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and data communications equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and data communications equipment.
Assist in setting new equipment in classrooms and labs.
Assist in improving the network inside the college of engineering.
Focus on setup, repair, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software products that are incorporated in a business's operations.
Set up equipment for new users.
Assist with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more.
Serve as back-up to the supervisor as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).
Must be in good academic standing.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Ability to move furniture, classroom equipment, re-arrange storage space within the college.
Available after hours to complete the task.
