The Director, Physician Compensation Reporting reports to the Associate CFO, Physician Group and Associate COO Physician Group. This position leads a team responsible for physician clinical compensation reporting, and is charged with providing expert analytic services to all levels of leadership within UC San Diego Health and School of Medicine, including, but not limited to, the coordination and development of physician productivity and compensation reporting, including compensation plans for faculty and MSP staff physicians in accordance with department and Physician Group compensation guidelines.
The Director ensures that faculty compensation is consistent with approved department compensation plans and that reporting is accurate and delivered in a timely manner. This position serves as a non-faculty member of the Clinical Compensation Committee, and is responsible for coordinating the supporting financial analyses in support of this committee. The position requires excellent analytic and database skills, including advanced Excel; understanding of current UC San Diego business systems is highly desirable. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to effectively present and discuss findings with Clinical Department Chairs, Chiefs and senior levels of management, and work in a highly collaborative manner with others throughout the organization.
Advanced Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience and training.
Seven or more (7+) years of relevant experience, including finance experience in academic medicine or a large physician group setting.
Demonstrated experience and proven knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
Proven experience and proven knowledge of physician compensation plans, in particular productivity-related plans.
Experience and proven knowledge of MGMA physician compensation benchmarks.
Experience and proven knowledge of AAMC physician benchmarks.
Experience with physician compensation plans in an Academic Medical Center.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
