The School of Dentistry shares the mission of the Oregon Health & Science University to provide educational programs, basic and clinical research, and high quality care and community programs. The Central Sterile department fulfills this mission by ensuring the sterilization of instruments used in our clinical care settings.
The Sterile Processing Technician 2 performs preparation of instruments, supplies and equipment requiring decontamination, assembly prep and packaging, and sterilization. This position is part of a team of 18 who work together to ensure a full cycle sterilization function for all of the School of Dentistry. The SPT2 will work in a fast paced environment, with a high degree of detail and accuracy, a certain degree of autonomy and will require time management skills.
**Qualified applicants who meet the required two years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician but do not have the required certification may be considered for the Sterile Processing Technician 1 (SPT1) position provided that the National Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM is obtained within 6 months of date of hire. Once certification is obtained, the SPT1 could be considered for open SPT2 positions.
