There is an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, University of California at Irvine. The candidate is expected to employ integrated mass spectrometry-based proteomics approaches to study protein complexes in the ubiquitin-proteasome system regarding their posttranslational modifications, protein interaction network, structure and function. The lab is equipped with Orbitrap Fusion Lumos and Orbitrap XL mass spectrometers and several HPLC systems for protein and peptide analyses. Ph.D. degree in biological/biomedical sciences, chemistry or related fields is required. While experience in mass spectrometry is not required, background/expertise in protein expression/purification, chromatography, bioinformatics or molecular and cell biology is a plus. The prospective postdoctoral scholar will work with Professor Lan Huang (http://webfiles.uci.edu/lanhuang/www/) and be supported at 100% of time at NIH-mandated postdoctoral salary levels.
