Under direction of the Graduate Admissions Supervisor, the Admissions and Student Affairs Assistant assists the team with processing applications for graduate admissions. Responds to telephone, in-person, email, and mail inquiries regarding UCSD graduate applications, programs, admissions, application status, and application fees and fee waivers.
Responsible for creating and maintaining admitted applicant files for evaluator review, and for posting and verifying data into Integrated Student Information Systems (ISIS) and the graduate application management system. The assistant collaborates with Graduate Admission and Information Systems (IS) unit staff in the ongoing update and development of the graduate admissions application.
Provides administrative and clerical assistance, grant administrative support, and general office support for activities associated with the Graduate Student Affairs unit. Assists in the advising of undergraduate student participants in the various student affairs graduate preparation programs.
Overtime may be required.

Demonstrated ability to research, collect data, verify accuracy, compile and format results.
Strong mathematical skills sufficient to make calculations.
Intermediate computer skills with experience in the use of email, online environments, web-based applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing applications.
Demonstrated experience in the correct use of English grammar, punctuation, formatting and spelling.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work with frequent interruptions.
Proven experience in handling, processing, and reviewing academic transcripts.
