The Perioperative Dispensing Coordinator with general direction and latitude for initiative and judgment is responsible for the daily dispensing of supplies and instruments required for surgical cases for the Operating Room, and receives supervision and direction from the Perioperative Nurse Coordinators.
Below are the essential functions of the role.
ï¿½Print and organize doctor's preference cards and surgical schedule and prioritize order of cases for supplies and instruments; stage outside of rooms prior to surgery in priority order and pull unscheduled/emergency cases that arise.
ï¿½Separate and restock unused sterile supplies not used; ensure sterile cores are neat and orderly.
ï¿½Work with the Perioperative supply staff to ensure availability of supplies for case dispensing.
ï¿½Assist the surgical staff in the rooms with urgent requests for supplies and instruments during surgical cases.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to operate commonly used office equipment, PC, copier, fax and multi-line phones, become a proficient operator in all assigned software and database systems including but not limited to: Materials Management Information System(s), GE Centricity, and PARIS, is essential for the role. The candidate must have the ability to work independently, prioritize work, have knowledge of PeopleSoft, Excel, and AtPar Software, verbal, organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills and comfortability in responding to multiple supervisors.
