Work Schedule: FT; Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Irregular hours, some weekends, evenings, and holidays required.
General Description: The Assistant Director for Athletics Media and Communications is responsible for assisting the Director of Sports Communications in developing and implementing communications for 19 NCAA Division III intercollegiate programs. The successful candidate will work within the traditional scope of athletic communications, while also employing skills in graphic design, video, and written material to provide social and digital content to fans, recruits, media, and others. This position will report to the Director of Sports Communications.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute creative and innovative marketing and promotional content for PLU’s 19 NCAA Division III athletic teams, while taking advantage of existing emerging technology.
Manage all video content for GoLutes.com and social media platforms, including all live stream home events, highlight videos, special event videos, and features.
Develop creative video content to support and enhance organizational branding and recruiting.
Cultivate fan engagement on all social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, etc.
Lead marketing efforts on all electronic media hardware, including courtside signage.
Oversee game day execution of established marketing elements, including crowd engagement and video productions.
Hire, train, and supervise student staff.
Serve as liaison with various constituents on campus including Marketing and Communications (MarCom), University Relations, Campus Life, etc.
Assist with traditional SID duties for selected sports including management of game day staff, video streaming, social media, and post-game recaps.
Assist in managing Athletics website content through the Sidearm Sports platform.
Assist with fostering and managing the overall athletics brand.
Remain current, knowledgeable, and compliant with all NCAA, NWC, and university rules and regulations.
Support and promote the university’s mission.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Three years of experience in marketing, sports information, or related field in the sports industry.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Finalist applicants must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background check.
Experience in higher education.
