This is a posting for a Dietitian II (1.0 FTE, exempt) career position located in the UC Davis Health, Food and Nutrition Services Department, in Sacramento, CA; working variable days and hours including holidays and weekends. This job classification is represented by a union.

Qualifications REQUIRED --A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university is required (minimum Nutrition BS or equivalent or MS Degree in Nutrition). --Applicants must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Must maintain registration by participating in continuing education. --Strong academic background and applied background in clinical nutrition. --Knowledge and experience applying medical nutrition therapy principles, including enteral and parenteral nutrition support. --Experience using electronic medical record, computer word processing and spreadsheet software. PREFERRED - 5 or more years of clinical experience in an academic medical center (or large teaching hospital) strongly preferred. - Majority of clinical experience in adult medical nutrition therapy strongly preferred. -Specialty certification strongly preferred. -Experience teaching and supervising dietetic interns or other students preferred. -Experience in nutrition-focused physical assessments and malnutrition diagnosis preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
Responsibilities This position provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and their families, along with consultation to the interdisciplinary care team on service. Provision of medical nutrition therapy is according to standards of practice and policies and procedures, It includes, but is not limited to, nutritional assessment, diet calculation, coordination of nutritional services with community agencies, participation in case conferences, and continuity of care. This position may precept dietetic interns and participate in promotional or community activities for the medical center.
