Stanford EdCareers is the career services and professional learning hub at Stanford GSE. ConnectED, the career services unit, assists GSE students and alumni in realizing their career visions. DevelopED convenes professional development stakeholders within the GSE and across Stanford to seek synergies and find strategic solutions to maximize the reach of GSE research to education practitioners worldwide. Through programming, curriculum, and resources, ConnectED guides students and alumni through a conceptual coaching model and facilitates connections among students, alumni and employers.
What You'll Do: The Associate Director serves as a full-time member of the EdCareers team, oversees the work of the ConnectED unit, and supports the work of the DevelopED unit as necessary. With the Executive Director of EdCareers, this individual contributes at both a strategic and a tactical level and partners across the university and across the field of education to help our students in designing and executing their career visions. This person:
administers, implements, and interprets university and department policies and procedures on issues regarding career development.
clarifies, and resolves highly visible or complex issues with substantial significance and impact that may span multiple areas, using expert technical and professional knowledge requiring independent judgment.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Master's degree preferred.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills to review and analyze complex information
Knowledgeable of education and career industry trends

Relevant computer systems/technology experience. Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations
Preferred MA or equivalent experience in data analysis
Experience with data management
Understanding of web analytics and how to utilize this information
Demonstrated social media and marketing experience
Excellent organization skills and ability to skillfully manage interruptions and multiple on-going projects
Independent, proactive, self-starter
Strong team-oriented player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of both internal and external constituencies to communicate policies and build community
Experience in program development, implementation and event planning
Understands how to motivate, manage and problem-solve with student/alumni volunteer groups
Able to manage projects that lead to measurable impact and results
Student academic services or student affairs experience preferred.
Create an employer pipeline strategy to leverage our strongest employer allies
Own relationship with employers and portal vendor to understand solutions, drive enhancements, to build and continually evolve a high quality, robust careers database
Facilitate and coordinate all aspects of user engagement with database, including oversight of a weekly newsletter that reaches all current students and over a thousand alumni
Oversee the management of the portal system to understand solutions, drive enhancements, to build and continually evolve a high quality, robust system with routine user testing and improvements to:
Track and increase number of submitted job postings
Track and increase registered employers
Track usage by registered students and alumni.
Experiential Learning Program
Oversight of School-wide internship and field experience opportunities
Management of support systems for students pursuing internships, and managers overseeing internships
Advise students and managers about expectations for a GSE internship or field experience.
Data and Trend Analysis
Manage the annual GSE Graduate Destination Report; understanding and communicating our graduates' career paths and analyzing career destination data for trends/improvements
Manage a part-time Research Assistant in distribution of annual survey, generation of responses, and analysis of data leading to the final report
Review web analytics, process findings and track trends regarding website utilization by visitors
Review analytics for EdCareers Portal, track trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
Create strong interactive website with measurable documented impact
Manage communication with different students (e-mails, timelines, offerings, etc.)
Able to create social media campaigns around events and initiatives for general visibility
Lead EdCareers Student Liaison group with regards to communication, meeting follow up, etc.
Education Career Coaching
Learn the EdCareers coaching model and meet with students/alumni 1:1 and in small groups to provide general career guidance in the education space.
Assist the EdCareers team and relevant stakeholders to conceptualize, design, negotiate, and monitor all events
Oversee and execute workshops and events including planning, content, attendance and evaluation
Deliver engaging workshops and facilitate panels for MA and PhD students throughout the year.
Ongoing administrative, event and general support for team
Serve on the EdCareers team and work with team members and students groups to ensure effective communication and collaboration for evolving opportunities and challenges
Work with colleagues to create and execute policies around space management for optimal usage
Possibly manage staff or interns on a project basis or as direct reports.
