The purpose of this position is to provide technical support services to licensed pharmacists at the Family Medicine at Richmond Pharmacy, who are responsible for the safe and proper distribution of medications to a diverse patient population. The pharmacy technician will also assist in inventory management, third party plan processing and providing excellent customer service.
Assists pharmacists in technical support activities e.g., answering telephone, filing, typing, medication profile maintenance.
Maintains inventory and actively engages in inventory control.
Interacts with other health care team members.
Checks stock for outdated drugs.
Prepares, collects, reviews and processes billing documents.
Assists in preparing and maintaining patient drug profiles.
Orders supplies from appropriate sources.
Prepares outpatient prescriptions
-Retrieves refills and receives refill authorization for prescriptions.
-Enters prescriptions in pharmacy computer system.
