Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Chief Radiation Therapist and or the Associate Chief Radiation Therapist, incumbent is responsible for daily patient treatments & procedures in the linear accelerator, NOMOS, and simulator rooms of Radiation Oncology. Incumbent is responsible for the daily scheduling of patients to ensure an efficient use of the available time slots. Schedules and takes port films on all patients, reviews results with physicians, documents findings, and makes necessary corrections. Responsible for reviewing treatment plan, dosimetry and treatment chart before initial patient treatment. Responsible for the correct operation of radiation therapy equipment, automatic film processors and quality control equipment. Responsible for daily documentation of patient treatment. Responsible for accurate billing of patient. Responsible for notifying physician of any concerns in regard to patient condition during treatment course. Responsible for notifying physicist of any equipment problems in a timely manner. Maintains films and medical records, including purging of files. CaRries out and records orders as required by physician prescriptions.
