The Clinical Informaticist Nurse integrates clinical practice, information, and knowledge, with the management of information and communication technologies to promote the health of people, families, and communities. The Clinical Informaticist is responsible to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with administration, clinical departments and associates, information services, and other disciplines to enhance their workflow methodology and tools. The Clinical Informaticist will maintain an end-user centric focus during all aspects of the clinical information system/technology lifecycle to enhance technology adoption and efficiencies to improve patient safety. Supports and facilitates the Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) vision and strategic goals. The essential duties of the Clinical Informaticist Nurse include the following:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinicians (clinicians and providers) for maximization, efficient, and effective use of clinical information systems/technology as it relates to patient care, user satisfaction, clinical productivity and quality outcomes.
Identify and implement improvement opportunities with workflow processes and clinical information systems/technology as it relates to the practice of clinicians/providers.
Provides on-going end user (clinicians/providers) clinical information system/technology education and support, with all upgrades, new releases and enhanced functionality using critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Facilitates and supports a robust super user program, clinical champion(s), and/or clinical informatics council at assigned site.
Responsible for daily rounding in all inpatient/outpatient areas and be readily available as a key resource for the clinical (clinicians/providers) end user regarding education, support, training, policies and procedures.
Utilizes data to drive process, workflow and behavior change with clinical end-users (clinicians/providers) as it relates to appropriate and most efficient use of the EMR and other clinical technology.
Collaborates with IT and other departments in testing and end user validation of technology issues, new functionality, and system design sessions.
Knowledge of clinical practice issues and assists site to be compliant with current standards/competencies and regulatory bodies.
Maintains up to date knowledge of clinical information systems/technology through available vendor resources, email list-serves, conferences, and onsite education
The ideal Clinical Informaticist Nurse candidate will have the ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects, with strong prioritizing skills.

Bachelorâs of Science in Nursing required
Minimum of 3 years related work experience required
