Responsible for developing,directing and improving IS operations and strategic direction and designprinciples to ensure alignment between business and technical objectives. Manages a core functional team of IS professionals to deliver onrun-the-business operations and projects, while monitoring performance andpersonal development. He/she will assist respective leadership with understandingand implementing technical and process standards and supporting departmentbudget planning and management. In addition, he/she will lead enterprise-wideevaluation, design, and testing of new technologies that improve and enhanceBSWH-IS system reliability, availability and serviceability. Essential functions of the role include:
Run-the-Business: Measures, monitors, and manages performance to Service Level Agreements andoverall quality delivery for the respective team; implement Lean Best Practicesto optimize performance, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. Serves as a point of escalation to staff when issues arise
ProjectDelivery Management: Develops business cases, reviews and approvesbusiness and/or technical requirements, defines scope or projects and workschedules, and manages departmental resources to complete projects on time,within scope, and on budget. Serves as a point of escalation to your whenproject issues arise
Resourceand Performance Management: Maintains proper staffing levels, allocatesresources, manages payroll, provides ongoing two-way feedback, develops andexecutes staff development plans, and evaluates individual performance;conducts personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and other statuschanges
BudgetPlanning and Management: Assists management with planning and ongoingmanagement of departmental capital and operational budget in accordance with ISstrategic plans and run-the-business needs
PromoteTechnical / Process Standards: Understands requirements and designs oftechnical and process standards. Works with management to finalizestandards to ensure long-term sustainability, strategic alignment, and costeffectiveness of proposed enterprise and departmental standards; promotes consistentadoption of new technical and process standards within IS
Strategyand Planning: Directs the overall strategy, architecture and processimprovements for BSWH technology offerings and support. Identifies businessrequirements that affect the enterprise architecture and provide solutions thatintegrate into the overall architectural strategy.
Leadership:Serves as a subject matter expert for the architectural frameworks, methods andtools. Participates in the governance process to ensure the enterprise deliversthe desired benefits to BSWH. Acts as coach to advise BSWH-IS technical andsupport teams I any architecture disciplines.
The ideal candidate for the ManagerInformation Services, Strategic role has at least 2 years of experience. Thecandidate project, resource, and performance management are key skills for therole. The ideal candidate possessesstrong communication skills, problem solving, time management and qualitydelivery, as well as excellent teamwork and relationships with others. Expertise around industry best practices inthe various aspects of IT, technology trends, enterprise operations knowledgeand the ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies isintegral to the role. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to makeappropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potentialactions.
