Assist the Director of Athletics in administering all facets of the Athletic Department in a positive Christian manner, including compliance with NCAA, American Southwest Conference, and University regulations. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in budget reconciliation and transfers, procurement and purchasing, compliance and eligibility, sponsorship management, some game administration and facility management. Serves as the contact person for game officials and/or visiting teams if the Sports Information Director is not available. This job may require long and varied hours. This Employee is also responsible for making sure officials and game workers are paid and gate receipts are deposited. This person may be the athletic administrator on duty when the Athletic Director is not present.
Assist the Director of Athletics and/or Assistant Directors of Athletics in all the following areas: budget planning, purchasing, compliance, marketing, sponsorships and some game administration duties. Must also have a working knowledge of athletics and office management. The Director of Athletics may assign other duties. Duties may include but are not limited to:
1. Facilitate all business operation functions for the department. 2. Provide customer service support for building guests and department phones. 3. Facilitate selection, training, and payment for all game workers. 5. May cover one athletic event while the Athletic Director and/or assistant athletic directors cover other events 6. Serve as the contact person for athletic sponsorship fundraising (invoices, commitments, collections and customer services). 7. NCAA Reports 8. NCAA Required Forms 9. Supervisory Responsibilities - Athletics Business Operations Assistant, Compliance Director may supervise up to six student/adult workers. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training workers. Will be involved in planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems.
