Qualifications -Demonstrated experience as a lift technician or patient handling which includes lifting and transferring patients. -Prior experience in an inpatient care setting preferred. -Must be familiar with universal guidelines on best practices related to patient lift practice and procedures. -Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safe patient lift/transfer techniques. -Must be able to work with nursing personnel and perform independent decision making. -Knowledge of human anatomy, basic medical terminology, and basic rehabilitation principles. -Ability to use patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective clothing in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT -Candidate must be able to lift, push and pull for a 12-hour shift. Must be able to lift 100 pounds from floor to waist and 65 pounds from waist to shoulder. -Candidate must receive CPR certification within 3 months of employment and maintain as current. -Maybe required to work overtime and/or alternate shifts, weekends, holidays and variable hours. -THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
Responsibilities The Per Diem Lift Technician provides patient handling assistance in UC Davis Medical Center. As a LIFT TEAM member, the Lift Technician will use UCDHS equipment and will work with other Lift Technicians in groups of two or more to perform scheduled and nonscheduled hospital patient lifts and transfers.
