Qualifications REQUIRED -BA/BS in Social or Life Science or related field; or equivalent experience. -Knowledge of and skills to apply/interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern Academic HR. -Knowledge of organization, college and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding of variances to stated policies. -Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems. -Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations. -Demonstrated organization, problem solving and communication skills. -Knowledge and experience using but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet, human resources, payroll and accounting systems etc.
PREFERRED -Experience working independently and as part of a team. -Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of disciplines served. -Knowledge of University financial policies and ability to strictly adhere to them. -Ability to understand policies of various granting agencies and adhere to them. -Ability to compile statistics with regard to personnel, payroll, and salary budget. -Knowledge of human resource principles and practices and to interpret, understand, and apply University human resource policies and procedures, including but not limited to UCD P&P Manual, Academic Personnel Manual, Personnel Policy for Staff Members, collective bargaining contracts, Worker's Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act, University policies relevant to sexual harassment, discrimination in employment, employment of foreign nationals near relatives, and pertinent federal, state, immigration and naturalization laws, and private regulatory agency rules and regulations. -Knowledge and experience in preparing academic and staff appointments, personnel paperwork, medical staff and billing applications, visas, professional activities report, merits and promotions via MyInfoVault, TEVs, EEVs, statistical reports, and maintaining faculty CVs.

Responsibilities The Academic HR Analyst 2 will assemble materials for faculty and academic staff appointments, reappointments, promotions, and the search processes for faculty recruitments and ensure compliance with school and university policies. This position is expected to serve as a backup to the Academic Affairs Manager in their absence.
