Under supervision, maintains full responsibility of all cash and sales transactions. Operates Point of Sale system rapidly and accurately. Makes coffee and maintains cleanliness of coffee station and surrounding area. Cleans dining room tables and stocks retail cafe. Meets customer needs using diplomacy, tact, and flexibility while upholding and complying with the UC San Diego Health (UCSDH) Core Values of Quality, Caring, Integrity, Creativity and Teamwork and its C.A.R.I.N.G. Standards of Performance. Performs other related tasks as necessary.
One (1) year of cashiering experience, preferably in a food service setting.
Demonstrated ability to identify and use POS data management systems accurately.
Proven ability to follow all cashiering policies and procedures.
Demonstrated superb customer service skills.
Excellent communications skills.
Must be able to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
