This position is responsible for overseeing the general administration and coordination of the Cooperative Education/internship program, recruiting activities, and career counseling for the extended university centers on the Westside. Assists students in finding work experiences and career related employment. Works with University departments to identify and develop relationships with employers to provide career opportunities for CWU students. Conducts workshops, markets services, and develops resources to support students, faculty and employers.
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or closely related field or equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
Three years’ experience in Career Services and/or the equivalent experience with private or public agencies.
Strong listening, writing, and oral communication skills.
Experience advising, counseling and working with clients and colleagues from diverse ethnic cultural & economic backgrounds, as well as ability levels.
Experience with supervision of students or staff.
Knowledge of careers, employment trends, and job search techniques.
Ability to collect, distill, interpret, and disseminate career and employment information to coworkers, students, staff and faculty.
Ability to oversee major events.
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Prior teaching experience.
Ability to write clear, concise, comprehensive resource handouts, emails, advertisements, annual reports, etc.
