The HMC Vascular Surgery Clinic has an outstanding opportunity available for a full time day shift PROGRAM COORDINATOR. The Program Coordinator will perform functions to support the vascular surgery clinic. Responsibilities include scheduling complex, coordinated appointments in the vascular surgery clinic including same day appointments in vascular lab, phlebotomy lab and radiology. Prior authorization is often required for these tests/appointments and in some instances this includes working with patients that live out of state which adds another layer of complexity to obtaining prior authorizations. Many vascular surgery clinic patients are enrolled in research/ clinical trials. The PC works closely with the research RN coordinators for those patients enrolled in research/clinical trials to ensure the appointments are scheduled within the correct timeframe to meet the clinical trial requirements. There are several ongoing research/clinical trials that the vascular clinic is currently participating in. To date, the clinical trial program has over 200 patients enrolled and number will continue to grow. The Program Coordinator works closely with nurses, physicians, and other medical staff to ensure a high standard of care. Please note regular attendance is critical to successful job performance.Job Duties & Performance Standards:Clinic Operations:-Coordinate all complex scheduling appointments for research clinical trial patients. Main study is the PMEGS which require independent physician review of request. Obtaining insurance authorization as needed for vascular lab tests, radiology tests and clinic appointments.-Maintain compliance of complex scheduling of appointments within a specific time frame as determined by the clinical trial and FDA guidelines, working closely with the research RN /coordinator to provide feedback if/when patients are unable to meet pre-determined appointment timelines.-Insurance authorizations and verification of all incoming referrals. Includes any labs or radiology authorizations needed for outside HMC facilities.-Complete
