Position is responsible for performing plant culture and molecular biology techniques in support of the lab and the PI's research goals. Independently performs and directs others in the areas of molecular genetics in plants. Other responsibilities include culture of plants, plant phenotyping, seed production, organizing seed stocks and biological samples, and lab ordering. Oversees lab equipment, especially automated systems and troubleshoots when systems fail, as well as interact with company representatives for support. Oversees lab technicians and prioritizes lab duties. Creates competent cell stocks, antibiotic stocks, and manages media/medium stocks. Manages and organizes growth space. Work is performed without close technical supervision. Position will execute specific experiments that are broadly designed by postdocs or PI and must be able to carry out and analyze experimental results independently.
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related field.
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Must be willing to work independently and must have a flexible schedule to support research needs.
Successful completion of the Institute's background check investigation.
Position requires constant seeing, adjusting focus, and working inside.
