We are currently sourcing for an individual with journey-level experience with design, fabrication, installation, repair of metal structures, tools, machinery, mechanical equipment, and welding duties; performs related duties as assigned.
The essential duties of the job involve the following:
Designs, fabricates, modifies, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains varieties of complex mechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, blowers, conveyor systems, heat exchangers, boilers, HVAC equipment, motive equipment, hoists, cranes, roll-up doors, gates and gate drivers and vault lids; dismantles and re-assembles equipment for maintenance and repairs.
Assists in securing facilities and equipment; weld's security bars, screens, grates, light covers, toolboxes, and cabinets; fabricates, welds and mounts a variety of locking devices for doors, gates, and boxes; welds security railing pipes.
Performs a variety of welding for vehicle repair including hitches, racks, seats and tailgates, welds parts on a variety of vehicles and equipment; performs safety checks and repairs unsafe conditions; welds and cuts parts using proper ARC, MIG, TIG, and gas welding equipment.
Performs welding and soldering on a variety of metals including various forms of steel including but not limited to stainless, tool and chromoly steel and aluminium, galvanized metals, copper and cast iron; operates a variety of tools and shop equipment including welders, grinders, drill press, saws, power shears, sheet metal equipment and a variety of hand and power tools used in the welding and metal fabrication trades; reads and interprets diagrams and blueprints for fabrication assignments.
Assists other skilled maintenance personnel in completing cooperative assignments requiring specialized welding and metal fabrication skills and equipment; operates vehicles to various sites; may lead and train lower-level maintenance personnel; operates the computer for creating and accessing records, process time cards, and work orders.
High school diploma or GED;
Two years of experience in skilled welding, metal fabrication, electromechanical or machining;
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Obtain ASME or AWS welding certification within six months of the date of hire.
Additional Salary Information: Hiring wage is $30.18 with an additional $1.70 per hour when assigned a shift that is eligible for differential pay.
