Position Summary: To undertake and perform properly, efficiently, to the best of their ability and consistent with the standards of the University, all duties and responsibilities for the health care of student athletes under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Training Services and the guidance of the Team Physicians; to include coordination of care, prevention, and rehabilitation services to student athletes; also possible involvement in clinical education, supervision, and mentoring of Athletic Training students in the Athletic Training Education Program. Focus on Women's basketball and other assigned sports.
- Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field - BOC certification - Eligible for State of Idaho Board of Medicine licensure as an Athletic Trainer - Demonstrated ability to work with students, coaches and administrative personnel in a broad range of medical situations. - Professional Rescuer CPR/AED certification (or equivalent) - Possess, or obtains within 6 months of hire, Instructors Certificate for Lay Responder and Professional Rescuer First Aid and CPR/AED (or equivalent). (American Red Cross Preferred)
- Previous athletic training experience with Womens basketball. - Previous athletic training experience as a full-time/intern (non-GA) Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level, particularly having had a primary sport responsibility, including team travel. - Previous experience in athletic training room organization and administrative duties, including Substance Abuse Testing/educational programs. - Proven ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and medical professionals - Demonstrated ability to work in stressful situations - Athletic Training patient care philosophy consistent with Director of Athletic Training Services - Proven ability to contribute to athletic training students educational experience, both academically and clinically - Previous experience as an ACI in an approved ATEP - Previous experience with Vivature and other EMR systems
