The Faculty of TAMU-Commerce Nursing Department assists the Chair/Director in implementing the mission of the nursing program to provide quality baccalaureate education for students. The faculty is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom/clinical instruction and related activities. Assigned duties may occur during the day, evening, or on weekends.
Specific Responsibilities: A.Students 1. Provide classroom and clinical instruction, ensuring that each class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content, and uses appropriate teaching methodologies. 2. Evaluate theoretical and clinical components of studentsâ™ instruction. 3. Participate in student advisement and academic counseling. 4. Assess student needs, promote student learning strategies, and refer students as necessary to counseling or learning support resources. 5. Maintain necessary records and reports. B.Department 1. Assume responsibility for assigned units of instruction and exams 2. Participate in the ongoing development of the program through contributing to unit and course revision and refinement and the implementation of formative and summative evaluation processes. 3. Provide input in the department budget. 4. Participate in the selection and orientation of new faculty. 5. Maintain policies on selection, admission, progression, and graduation of students. 6. Maintain satisfactory relationships with cooperating agencies. 7. Participate in departmental committees. 8. Represent the department and university in the community. C. Profession 1. Remain current with the changing trends in nursing education and practice. 2. Participate in professional and community activities related to the improvement of health care.
3. Maintain personal growth and development through ongoing faculty development activities.

Required Education and Experience:
Masterâ™s in Nursing with 5 years of nursing experience.
Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Terminal degree in Nursing or related field.
Teaching experience in baccalaureate nursing program.
Required Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
Registered Nurse; Texas license required upon hiring
