Position Summary: The University Honors Program at the University of Idaho under the direct supervision of the Director seeks a qualified professional to coordinate key areas of honors education. This position's effort manages the following areas, including the living-learning components of the program: student success services and delivery of high-impact learning activities; new student recruiting, admission, and scholarships; marketing and social media/web presence; alumni relations, outreach, administration of three honors societies housed in the program; and contribution to program assessment. The University Honors Program Coordinator also contributes to cultivating a climate that consistently encourages and celebrates diversity and academic excellence.
An earned Masters degree, such as an MA, MPA or M.Ed. A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in relevant areas, such as honors education, university-level student development and advising, residence life and housing in a university setting. Demonstrated experience delivering student-centered customer service. Demonstrated experience compiling and analyzing data. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent demonstrated communication skills, including oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with Honors or high-achieving students in a university setting. Knowledge of best practices and issues in the areas of honors education, student development and advising, and housing and residence life. Ability to exercise good judgment and effective decision-making. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty and external partners to advance the mission of the University Honors Program. Certification for university vehicle driving Willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends. Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Ability to lift or otherwise move up to 30 pounds.
