The Agricultural Sciences and Marine Science Business Center (AMBC) is seeking a Manager for the Newport Business Office. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head.
The Agricultural Sciences and Marine Science Business Center (AMBC) is responsible for providing financial and administrative services to the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS), Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC), Marine Studies Initiative (MSI), Cooperative Institute for Marine Resources Studies (CIMRS), and Marine Mammal Institute (MMI).
The person in this position is a working manager with an office at the Newport campus, and is responsible for the accounting and fiscal activities for the coastal units served by AMBC, which include HMSC, MMI, CIMRS, and the Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station (COMES) Newport. Also residing at the Hatfield Marine Science Center are seven federal agencies and a state agency that are involved in cooperative research. The incumbent is the primary business contact for individuals from the Corvallis campus when they need information.
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. Experience managing end-of lifecycle reallocation, sale, repurpose, and disposal of property and materials. Recent and progressive supervisory experience with multiple staff direct-reports.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a closely related field and three years of professional level financial/accounting experience as a Financial and Accounting generalist OR an equivalent combination of related experience, training and educational background.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in grant and contract administration.
Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel and enterprise computing systems.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Effective collaboration and relationship-building skills with key stakeholders and business partners.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OAR 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
This position requires periodic travel to the Corvallis campus.
