To provide individual services in the academic advisement, transfer information, and academic development activities.
Provides academic advisement on curriculum/academic programs requirement of Blinn College and other institutions of higher education.
Essential Duties :
Serve as resource regarding equivalency and transferability information.
Interacts with parents and guardians of students while ensuring the privacy of the advising relationship is not compromised.
Assist with new student orientation and advisor training.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaborative work settings with Advisors, Counselors, Student Service staff.
Ability to establish and maintain effective positive working relationship with students, parents and Blinn College staff.
Prior experience in academic advising setting
Computer literacy and ability to learn proprietary software
Salary Range: $20.69 an hour
