Development Associate Open Window School is a K-8 school and the only independent school on Seattle’s Eastside dedicated to meeting the needs of intellectually gifted students. The school has a very involved community of families who generously give to the school, both in time and resources.
Open Window is accepting applications for a Development Associate who will join our three-person development team and help us engage the energy of our community. The Development Associate will be part of an ambitious team deeply committed to the mission and continued innovative growth of the school.
The Development Associate will report directly to the Director of Development. Together, the development team conducts at least four events throughout the year: the annual fund; auction; an alumni event; and, a grandparents’ and special friends’ day.
Our Development Associate plays a key role in managing the donor database and providing administrative support. The Development Associate is exceptionally detail oriented to ensure accurate tracking, acknowledgement, and reconciliation of all donations. The Development Associate will have key interactions with the school community, staff and administration.
Requirements: Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the position.
Mastery of Excel and MS Office Suite, including mail merge
The following skills, knowledge, and abilities may enhance an applicant’s candidacy.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge
Knowledge and experience with Adobe Suite
Previous database management using MS Access or similar program
Non-profit fundraising experience
Expectations & Primary Duties, including but not limited to:
Maintain cordial, flexible, and professional relationships with colleagues and parents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Managing the donor database
Reconciling fundraising events with the Business Office
Assist with auction coordination
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
One Saturday in March to assist with the annual auction
Compensation and Benefits: This is a non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime compensation. Rate of Pay: $25-27/hour, depending upon experience.
This position is eligible for benefits, including school provided medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. Eligible employees may make pretax contributions to the 403(b) retirement savings plan and flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care expenses. The school is not easily accessible by public transportation.
