Sun Valley Community School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Upper School Spanish Language Teacher for a one-year interim position covering for a long-term family leave. The position is set to begin August 12, 2019 and will conclude on June 12, 2020. This teacher will teach our highest level Spanish classes in our Upper School. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree, have native or near-native proficiency, and should be well-versed in ACTFL’s guidelines and proficiency levels. In addition, the candidate should be passionate and knowledgeable about the Spanish-speaking world. Opportunities to be involved in the school’s hallmark Outdoor Program, advisory program, and other co-curricular activities are possible, but not required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and desire to work within a collaborative, learner-centered, and inquiry-based educational program where innovation, differentiation, and a growth mindset are valued. Above all, the successful candidate must have a love for teaching high school students and demonstrate an engaged and flexible approach in the classroom and beyond.
