PUBLIC HEALTH, PART-TIME LECTURER POOL.The Kinesiology & Public Health Department within the College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in Public Health during the 2019-20 academic year. Appointments are available as determined by need during Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarter. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.
Responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate Public Health major, and general education courses. Assignments may include a combination of the following:
General education courses in healthy living, multicultural health, and women's health
Activity courses in first aid & CPR
Public Health undergraduate courses such as introduction to public health, epidemiology, drug education, health education for teachers, injury prevention, medical terminology, media & technology in health promotion, public health internship, stress and chronic disease, worksite health promotion
Laboratory courses in epidemiology, research methods in public health settings, health promotion program planning, health promotion program evaluation, obesity prevention & treatment, stress and chronic disease.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):
A Master's Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education/Promotion, Health Psychology; or related field with relevant experience in a public health setting.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES/MCHES). Preference given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in college teaching and/or relevant experience in a public health setting.
