Responsible for the coordination and efficient utilization of speech therapy health care resources for Cook Children's Health Plan (CCHP) members. Works with the Therapy Program Manager to assure the provision of quality care throughout the continuum of care. The Speech Therapist Utilization Management (ST-UM) Reviewer facilitates clinically appropriate and fiscally responsible care through communication with the providers, health plan medical directors, and all other members of the health care and health plan team. The ST UM Reviewer assesses and identifies the patient's clinical findings and determines, in conjunction with the Medical Director utilizes protocols, pathways, and evidence based clinical tools, to assess the level of therapy care appropriate for the member. The ST UM Reviewer communicates with providers of care/services to facilitate appropriate levels of therapy care. The ST UM Reviewer participates with the Therapy Program Manager reviewing and updating evidence-based standards of speech therapy care and services for CCHP.
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Bilingual preferred but not required.

Organization and time management.
Current, unrestricted licensure for Speech Therapist in the state of Texas.
