Assists with the oversight of Essilor University Optical Services, including supervision of optical staff, review of patient care and services, and training of students in the selection, fitting and dispensing ophthalmic eyewear.
Assists the manager with staff supervision, customer service, and procurement/inventory. Manages the shop in the absence of the manager.
Fits, adjusts and dispenses eyewear to patients. Verifies spectacle prescriptions upon receipt from laboratory.
Participates in ongoing education and training activities, both as instructor and participant.
Analyzes patient's optical problems and coordinates solutions with other clinics, doctors and laboratories.
Resolves complex or unusual patient issues in person and over the telephone.
Communicates with optical laboratories and vendors to expedite delivery of optical goods.
Communicates with doctors and faculty to resolve patient visual complaints and problems.
Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
