The Unit Clerk is responsible for performing the clerical tasks required by the Nursing Unit. The Clerk functions as a receptionist for the unit and answers all phone calls and patient intercom calls. The Unit Clerk is responsible for assembling/maintaining charts for admitted patients and preparing charts for HIM department for discharged patients. Basic organization and cleanliness (responsibilities not performed by EVS Staff) of the unit is a responsibility of the Unit Clerk.

Minimum Position Requirements:
Completion of medical terminology course preferred.
BLS (AHA) Certification
Experience: Prior experience as unit clerk or general office clerk, preferred. Special Qualifications:
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Computer and Keyboarding skills.
Ability to work with others to ensure quality patient care.
Must be able to perform order entry computer functions.
Possess the ability to deal tactfully with physicians, employees, patients and families.
