This position provides comprehensive coordination of pediatric gastroenterology patients from Salem, Eugene and Medford, Oregon. This position is responsible for being a liaison between OHSU providers and families, obtaining prior authorizations for infusion procedures and complex medication therapies.
The Patient Access Resource Specialist serves as an appointment and managed care coordinator for a Doernbecher Outreach clinic. The work environment is a combination of phone call center, appointment scheduling and insurance authorization management. The role schedules return patient appointments in EpicCare, obtains and verifies information to request and complete insurance authorizations, and assists patients and their families in the office or by phone contact. This position requires exceptional customer service through prompt and professional communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving as well as out of the box thinking.
Working Conditions: Shared office space, must be able to lift 20 lbs, move quickly, bend and reach, use computer key board for many hours per day, sit and stand at computer workstation for 4-6 hours per day.
